I am a child of the '90's, growing up in a time when television was in something of a golden age -- the action was kicking harder, the humor was getting funnier but was still fresh and clean, and landmark shows such as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" were getting their starts. Among this age, FOX network created FOXkids!, a viewing block that aired in the afternoons after school let out and also on Saturday mornings. Within this time, "X-Men: The Animated Series" came into being.

Dealing with large social issues such as prejudice and good vs. evil, "X-Men", like the comics the show was based on, wrapped these issues in fun packaging with "mutants" and "super powers." Going on to be one of the most successful cartoons in FOX's history, "X-Men" ran for a phenomenal five seasons. This is the first time that these beloved episodes are available in high-quality DVD format.

Volume Three of this collection picks up where Volume Two left off -- the Phoenix Saga, one of the greatest of all comic book story arcs. Jean Grey joined with the cosmic entity known as the Phoenix Force and sacrificed her life to save the universe. Now, the Phoenix has been driven mad by Jean's humanity and her telepathic powers, helped by the mental manipulations of the sinister Inner Circle club, beginning the start of the epic Dark Phoenix Saga.

Follow the X-Men as they fight for Jean Grey's soul, as Apocalypse rises and the battle not only evil but prejudice and social adversity time and time again. Featuring everyone's favorite comic characters (from Nightcrawler to Iceman to Archangel, to Cable and Apocalypse and Magneto), Volume Three will continue to delight fans of both comic and show.

Although there are regrettably no special features, these DVD collections -- with a price tag of $15 a piece -- are well worth collecting as a shining example of a time when television was more than just reality shows and sexual humor; a time when the media was relevant.

Customer Reviews
For the price of $230 NOTHING can touch this unit. I paid $243 for it. Everything works as expected, the touch screen works better than expected. I wish it had some sort of "animations" or something in the background when music is playing..but what do you expect for so cheap. DVD player works great. Once you setup EQ sound is great. My only HUGE complaint is the lack of effective dimming. This has the most complicated (and yet ineffective) dimming system I've ever seen on a deck. (I'm 34 and have installed all sorts of car stereos, alarms, remote starts, subs etc so Ive about seen it all) First off, it has FOUR choices on how you want the dimmings handled ON, OFF, AUTO, and TIMED. How about "just dim when I turn the headlights on and the "illumination" signal is triggered? Duh. THEN it has 3 different "MAIN" levels of dimming. OOKAY. Then once you select one of the 3 levels, there is THIRTY more dimming levels from -15 to +15 for 90 different levels just when its set to "auto". Regardless, even set to the darkest position with a black wallpaper this thing is just blinding at night to the point where its not safe to drive. The background is dimmed but the display of numbers (in white) does not dim at all. Other than returning this product for a pioneer or something better..it looks like my only choice will be to purchase some non-adhesive window tint and cut it to size to cover the screen so its not so bright.

ANyone looking for a great stereo look no further. I did my homework and for the bucks, I chose the JVC. It has everything I need with easy interface and plenty of watts. I also installed the ipod adapter, HD radio module and some after market speakers in a Toyota Yaris. THe deck was easy as it slid right in, the speakers took the better part of a morning. But it was worth the effort and don't need to install a separate amp. Plenty loud enough and with the Equalizer you can tailor the sound. THe display is too bright at night but you can dim it down and the touch screen makes everything very easy to manipulate. I put JL speakers in the back and Infinity in the front. Enjoy the JL's more as they have a more pronounced frequency response in the mid and low spectra. Yeah you can add amps and subs but It sounds 100 % better than the factory and it is a clean set-up with no wires or mess and enough for my entertainment while taking long drives.

Force black hawk down

This is an action packed movie based on real events. If you get weak at the sight of blood this is not your film. With that said, it is important American history to remember. This movie is a fairly accurate film as it shows the strengths and flaws of both sides... and the integrity of the United States military to leave no one behind. For those into war films, as I am, this is one you want to add to your collection. To those into history, as I am, this is worth viewing so we don't forget what took place.

Quantum of Solace

I was reluctant to watch this film since I heard from several people that it was confusing, but I sucked it up and decided to rent it. This movie is not confusing in the least bit, everything ties in smoothly. Completely action packed, something you would expect from this film. But what I got that i was not expecting where the deep emotions and how you saw him being torn all the time. Great film, worthy of everybody's watching

The Twilight

I had heard about the fantasy books by a friend when they first came out but didn't have the time to look into them. By the time the movie came out, I'd nearly forgotten about the book referral, but asked my hubby to take me as it looked like a good vampire romance flick. The scenery of the Pacific Northwest forests, rivers, and coastline was breathtaking and as a native to this area, it was like going out into my own backyard which made the film that more appealing. I was so captivated by the actors portrayal of the characters (the facial expressions and emotions brought out of the characters by Rob, Kristen, Peter, Nikki, and the rest were mesmerizing) and the depth of the back-story left me desiring more! The very next day after viewing the movie in the theater - I raced to the bookstore to grab the first book. I was hooked, read through all four books (plus went to the authors website to read the extra materials she had posted there) in a week. Then, still not satisfied, went back and saw the movie several more times - IN THE THEATER, something I've never felt compelled to do before - because I was so drawn to the characters and the story. This may have been written for the young adult audience but I'm 32 and a parent of four children, and still found the story to be well worth my time.

If you haven't read the stories, I encourage you to do so. Regardless, this film will be a treasured part of your movie collection and one you'll be sure to watch several times before you'll feel satisfied. Buy of Twilight

KC and the sunshine band

The Best of KC & the Sunshine Band

Put the CD on, and you'll find your toe tapping in seconds. After listening to this CD for about two weeks, I have to say that Harry Wayne Casey and Richard Finch are geniuses. If you want songs about politics, religion, or so on, this isn't your music. If you want fun music, and well-written, well-arranged, and unbelievably catchy music, this is for you. Every one of these tracks is a real prize. I was just a little kid when this came out, and today find this music amazingly sophisticated. Lots of poliphony, a very astute understanding of the power of rhythm. But since we're led to believe by the musical snobs that music has to be about something "important" to be important, most people probably brushed off KC and the Sunshine Band long, long ago. Take a second listen today. As you find yourself shaking your bootie or putting on your boogie shoes, you'll be ready to give it up! This music is something. And you'll probably find your eyes watering up when you listen to "Please Don't Go." In all, this album shows that people knew what they were doing when they were buying these songs on 45s 25 years ago.
